I walk
the trodden hallowed path
as destiny lies at my feet

Bare soul cast to the winds
from a shuddering heart’s beat

Why must a soul depart and walk alone
into the wilderness
of  forgotten dreams
where time
has whisked days into seconds
and seconds
into a lifetime of memories

As my soul walks
life passes on

That spark of energy given
upon the first beat of countless beats
as the first neuron fires within a brain
where memories lie resting
stirring occasionally

Love
has altered the beat of my heart
bringing forth staccatos, tremors
and moments when a beat ceases
as the death of love comes
to a dying, yet beating heart.
(Something different, flexing my wings)

I like this Barry, but the death of love? We don't want that, you are the romantic poet, remember

Sandra,

Fret not my lady
For the pen of love shall be
mighty as the sword
springing ever free...

Thanx Sandra...

Magnus darling boy this is utterly amazingly well written, you know for certain that I absolutely adore this you do free verse so well, as well as you do every other type. I love this utterly utterly, it drips into my soul feeding me like sweet ambrosia, you are indeed the King of Romance.

Perfect poetical writing from an absolutely brilliant perfect poetical poet’s pen. This is awesome and you know I love it Utterly utterly utterly

Love and warm stuff
As always
Mushy

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the eathquake wind and fire
Oh

(big hugggsssssss) May your heart always beat on with true love to crow about, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
