In Your Poetic Mind

0 posted 2002-06-14 01:41 PM

Was this where I came in
two stories,   maybe eight in all--
yet another of a man--
lacking courage  in his   convictions

The man there,

Slipping into the background

As though stopping for
the smile   was the last
thought     on his mind

   learning how :
became an end within itself

Among the rooms made -
   no bright colors
or vibrant life   sad
his empire – abandonment
and grief

the space grows larger,
immense with memories
  shadows and dusk- -

the snow covered mountains --
didn’t change the view
   of fairy tales read aloud
at night   or how sweetly
sister use to tuck us in
“leave the door cracked”
fainted   words  lost  upon
old clothes lines

the sky is cloudy
      trees  bent  under  wind
  leaves scattered  and  floated
their separate ways

some found their ways
    amidst the tables of grace
other   drifted   further
and have yet to settle in comfort

wind   still blows   through
the framed windows

you built your home
  of solitude and loneliness --
tears of pain

are only a few
among the rooms you made

Its been a long road
Getting from there to here
Ive known a wind so cold, seen the darkest days
but now the winds I feel are only winds of change

Hauntingly sad my friend,
love and peace.  Hugs~

I could have missed the pain, but I'd have had to miss the dance~~(Garth)

through the rooms, and out of the windows. . .

don't forget that we can always paint. . .

softly spoken of the heart. . .
