You smell like clover. Like my last lover. I put it away.
You smell like Sunday. You smell like Monday. I put it away.
You taste like hunger. You press on thunder. I put it away.
You turn to river. I lost my shiver. I put it away.

Shall I go on? Or is this the end of the song.
Shall I go on? Or is this what went wrong.
Shall I go on? Shall I go on?

You smell like thirst. I taste your worst. I put it away.
You glow like Venus. Have they yet seen us? I put it away.
I follow your stride. You cling to my tide. I put it away.
We fall in rhythm. We writhe in schism. I put it away.

Shall I go on? Or is this the end of day.
Shall I go on? Or is this the end of the play.
Shall I go on? I put it away.

I found you wearing yesterday as if everything were right.
I found you wearing yesterday as though we were still bright.
I loosened my sweating tie to watch the falling night.
I closed my eyes, I closed them tight. The black faded from sight.

You taste like the last road home. I put it away.
You stand like the ruins of Rome. I put it away.
You tire me in all the best ways. I put it away.
You inspire me to shrug off decay. I put it away.

And in the shadows of these leaves I promise you three things:
My life is yours. My heart is too. My soul silvered in ring.

She said burn ... together.

I remember a time or two like this feeling, Mr.Squirrel...
Very beautifully said.

Now this...is poetry!  Really got into this one, squirrel.

Its been a long road
Getting from there to here
Ive known a wind so cold, seen the darkest days

finely crafted. . . definitely not meant to be "put away". . . (you get extra points for rhyming "rhythm" and "schism")

superb work my friend. . .
