I tear at thought’s splendid pity
and decide my eyes need watering

This ache feels deep like bone rap
and I suppose those words sanctify me,
make me feel a part of air and water

Those mimed words make for better listening
like a sub woofer inside my soul frequency
Pounding..evolving out across my expression

I happen to like suffering from whipped notions
There is no shame in the first known emotion
Like it was normal to be new, naked, all alone

I love the wind speak and trees and everything
that I run to you for far above this day clatter
falling like scissored braids and lime ribbon

I am woman and I miss you

This just tears at me, Reg.  I sat here for 10 minutes, reading this poem over and over again...trying to figure out why it hit me so hard...and then I realized that next week would have been my 37th wedding anniversary with my late first husband...
and although I am married now, to the world's most wonderful man....

I am woman

and I miss him

~ loving hugs and thank you for sharing this with us

"I happen to like suffering from whipped notions"

this line stood out for too many reasons. . . I wonder just how many of us have "whipped notions" sitting in our refrigerators??

excellent work Reg. . .

Wow...you certainly displayed the mood well
within your words....and the ending
tied it all together with such powerful
effect and yearning....and you referred to
me as "sensual steam"....  Hmmmmm...mayhaps
you are the fire beneath the kettle...
waiting for the boil to start...I think so!

I've always read you, and don't know why I haven't said anything till now, but this one is good, hits home. Please keep on sharing even if some of us don't type anything in the space, just know that you are read and admired.
