Beyond the plain
among the trees of high
Rolling thunder pushing winds
Flowing, caressing the limbs
as pine nettles swirl and fall

Eastward, golden rays mingling
flirting with gray as flashes of
electric fingers tickle the sun’s rays
The heavens laugh

Alone would bring fear
Yet the sanctuary of closeness,
the warmth consoles and assures
as eyes squint against the wind.
Rains will cause the scurry to shelter.
The slamming of doors, swish of windows

Lover’s rain
The soft gentle patter of tiny feet
soothing to the ears, spurring sensual thoughts.
The once slow beat of two hearts
hammering in an echo..
Soft skin brushes
fingers trace...

A lover’s game
Best kept for this moment
as thunder rolls and skies cry

Whispers betray moments of stillness
Lovers sigh...

I absolutely adored this poem, Barry...
I think your poem captured the storm perfectly...and I also love rainy days...even cloudy ones, much better than sunny ones.

Other than a spring morning, fresh and cool.
It is hard to beat a day of soft rain
falling on your ears...with someone you love
nearby...to share the moment...

Until I start thinking...and wondering if I
could go fishing that day????

Thanx Lyra...

A very interesting menu indeed---of weather & togetherness, and the making the most of the stormy and still times of life.
Very Good!

(smiles) Oh Barry, this is sooooo beautifully sensual, sweet friend, it always seems no matter what the weather forecast would report, a smile is always contagious and make even every rainy day and Monday look like a may day! (big hugggssssss) This is excellent, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Well, this could almost make me see the 90% rain while I was at the beach as a good thing.

The rain holds many things ....
now a few more!

It never seems to amaze me how one's fears is another one's pleasures.

Good write my friend.
