Take those grits and stick 'em in your ear
‘Cause I ain’t gonna share you this beer
I guard my beer with all my life
and Hon...for it, I’ll trade in my wife

Take the beer and stick it in your grits
‘Cause I am sure it’s gonna give you fits
And as I know you, I will place a bet
while you are runnin’ to the toy-o-let

Put those grits where the sun does shine
For Honey, I don’t care if you are fine
I love this beer, that simply can’t be beat
and those grits aren’t made for me to eat

So take those grits and stick ‘em, you hear
For my breakfast is very simply a beer.
If God wanted them to be on my slate
he would have put them on Noah’s plate.

For the record....I don't drink beer...and I
do like grits....sorry...

ROFL,
I've tried beans and beer, beer and skittles but beer and grits! Now there's a combination I will have to explore, although to be honest I have visions of grits being like chicken giblets.

Sven,  Hmmmm?  There might be a possibility
for a new creation here!  Thanx...

Keth,  grits are almost like cream of wheat
texture,  only they are more bland tasting.
Very prominent in the "South" of the U.S.

And hard to beat with butter and two eggs
over easy,  three slices of crisp bacon, toast
and a large cup of hot coffee.....
mmmmmmmmmmm..
Now I am getting hungry....

Me I love grits...grew up with'em and eat them regularly (at least at home).  Not many places can cook them properly though.  Matter  of fact think I'll have grits and eggs and link sausage for dinner tonight...

Loved the poem...
