Falling Into Day

Falling into day
my fingers hold the sand
as rushing tide takes my dream awash
and overturns the naked basket
filled with scare as dark takes flight
and drowns the memory of the night

Awash in sheets of buttered light
the fabric of dark curtain lifts
and sound awakes like whispered nudge
across the splay of pillowed hair
a breath all honeydew with deep
wake up wake up calls me from sleep

Drink this morning sip of lush
and watch it nudge the leafing trees
to color coat away from dreams
no longer filled with trepidation
be still now night you are forsaken
by strip of sun across the floor
and still chill air through open door

I have one word ... Fantabulous!

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Oh what a beautiful way to greet the day, Martie.  You have such an unbelievable way with words.

I read this last week, but the werk monster had my hands busy (he wanted my mind, too, but we don't always get what we want *G*) But it's rested gently in my mind... and is even more beautiful as I read it again. *S*
