Between the Lines

Some days I can't get away from it.
Thoughts, that singe the edges of my heart,
came to my door tonight when you approached
wanting resolution, but acknowledging blame, mine, never yours.

Sometimes I would like to block you out,
pretend you never existed,
squeeze you into that part of my mind
where I hold the unimportant, but your sting can never be denied.

Words, we had many, mine in silent stare,
yours in echoed yell.
I cringed at the selfishness, teared at the childishness,
name calling allowing the hurt in me to push you away.

Finally I am alone, removing two weeks shy of a year
from my journaled life.
A year that held me back, bathed me in illness,
preventing the new seeds I planted
from fertilizing into the flower
that should have been ready to blossom by now.

I long for a good nights sleep, my own bed waiting,
no dreams to twist and turn me,
only the warmth of my quilt to wrap me in comfort
as I once again pull it close to my cheek
to try and remember what a soft touch really is.

M

M,
when you write like this I am taken back to a land of "what if" and you always help me to see clearly again. *HuGGLeS of healing*
L,

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

To think I almost missed this jewel...

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

This is so damn sad it makes you want to cry.....why why why is it that all the things we work for seem to erode our love and trust!
