It really doesn't matter
Where I've been or what I've done.
It is of no importance
Where I go- Or where I'm from...

The only thing that matters-
And I know this to be true...
Is the aching in my heart, dear
Every time I think of you.

I dream of you while driving-
Out there on the Interstate...
And wonder how it happened...
Was it accident, or fate?

Was it graven on some tablet-
Of an ancient, by-gone age...
Did some scribe of things eternal
Write it on some astral page?

I really can't explain it...
But the one thing that I know.
Is I bear you in my heart and mind...
Everywhere I go.

Hey G.S. you know I like your works, and this one is equally as good.  You have a unique talent, and I know what you mean about taking someone everywhere you go.  I have someone in my memory that I feel about this same way.

Gunslinger-
I always enjoy reading your poetry, and this
is no exception.  This one has a kind of
heartfelt ache to it.  Well done.

loved this
where have you been?

I will not bend to the cowardice of a silent judgement.

Your stories are great, whether short or long
as nostalgic as an old country song.

Great vignette.  KJ

The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light

You've done it again. The form is perfect, the meter is faultless, and I love the way you express yourself.
