Passion’s Quest

This is the tale about a ship
That sailed the seas one day
To search of shores of distant lands
Beyond sunsets, they say.
Captain Ron was fearless.
The crew the very best.
The vessel sure and sturdy.
Their goal was Passion’s quest.
Some thought they would find treasure.
Some thought they’d find the key
To questions like eternal youth,
Out on that distant sea.
The crew all had their own dreams
Of love and happiness;
Encouraged by their first mate,
The lovely Nancy Ness.
It’s told they all kept journals.
Told tales in words that rhyme
And wrote their lives in stories
Preserved them for all times.
Who knows what truly led them.
It’s rather hard to say,
What spurred them on through fog glazed nights
Or sweltering heat of day.
There’s those who swear they were possessed
By demons of their own;
In need to find utopia,
They left their lives and home.
No one knows what happened.
‘Tis years have passed since then.
The captain, crew and worthy ship,
‘Twere never seen again.
Some say the found a treasure
Too heavy for their ship,
But spawned by greed, they loaded it,
Then fated their own trip.
Some say the boat was capsized;
The captain and his crew
All dumped into the ocean’s waves,
They drank the briny brew.
Yet others say they still exist
Outside this worldly realm
And sail the seas near Passion’s shore
Their captain on the helm.

Ruth, This was great, shows your creative flare.  Just enough visuals thrown in, I felt like I had just become a member of a Passions Island 3 hour tour. Thank you.

We're not the Flying Dutchman
And we're not the Mary Deare.
Titanic? There's no way at all
That we would disappear.

We didn't sai into the sea
Nor didn't fall from grace.
We're sailing as we always have
Right here in cyberspace!

Wonderful to see you, Ruth

Did we disappear? I hadn't noticed.
Fabulous poem Ruth.

Thank you everyone...just one of those strange ideas that come to you at oh, about 3 AM and you can't seem to shake so you write it down and then wonder if it really makes any sense at all.
