I’m looking for the Rainbow Bridge,
Do you know the way?
If only I could find it,
I’d go and spend the day.

I’d find my friend, young again,
Her spirit now set free,
I’d throw her ball, she’d track it down,
And bring it back to me.

We’d walk along a shaded stream,
She’d chase a cat or two,
Then I’d take her picture
To bring back home to you.

You’d see her little pointed ears,
Her dark eyes filled with light.
Her tail would stand straight as a stick,
Her coat would be snow white.

I’d be happy for the Rainbow Bridge
Though it took her far away,
I’d ever hold close to my heart,
Memories of that day.

I’m looking for the Rainbow Bridge
I wish I knew the way.
I’d cross right over and call her name,
And then I’d spend the day.

Daylily,

I absolutely adore this poem. I have a dog that is very special to me but alas he is not my own. I will be visiting him this next week and I am very happy to be able to play with him again. I know someday you too will be able to meet with your dear friend under the Rainbow Bridge.

Welcome to Passions. I hope you enjoy it here as much as we will enjoy having you. Please check your e-mail for a special welcome.

I just teared right up.... I have many a friend that waits for me on the Rainbow Bridge.... Heaven just wouldn't be complete without all of our loved ones. We will see them all again and cross together into glory.

I just loved this piece.

Welcome to Passions. I am looking forward to seeing more of you here in our home of blue.

Love, Light and Peace,

This is a lovely poem, Daylily...
Does your dog chase chipmunks too?  If so, I guess I'd better run.

Welcome to passions and I hope to read more of your work.

Pam,
You're a hit. This is great! My dog is 14 now. I'm expecting her to be called to Rainbow Bridge and don't look forward to that day. But what a nice memory. Well done. Hope you post often! I'm liking this.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Glad Larry brought this one back up front.
I loved the tenderness of this.
There is a real Rainbow Bridge, in a park in southern California. The kids love it, and so do the adults. And though I haven't been there in 7 years, I believe it must still a place of great joy. Though this isn't the bridge of your poem, the name itself conjures up many happy memories. Thank you for that.
