There once was a farmer who had one arm
He lived inside a concrete farm
With electric pigs and robotic cows
No mule required for the digital plow

But he could not see
Beyond the cement walls
The only thing he knew
He was the King of it all

Then one day ... The system crashed
Wires sparked, warning lights flashed
The livestock exploded one by one
Then he knew it all was done

He slowly removed his shiny steel crown
Then the concrete walls .....
Came crumbling down

It had me wondering if "Bill Gates" might have been an inspiration to this one. Am I even close?

To the best of my knowledge he has both arms, but maybe that was another metaphor.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Bill Gates?  No, but I could see that.
This is actually about the IDEA not any particular one person.  It was inspired by a lot of different people, more than would be worth naming.
