Waves are still pounding
inner ears resounding
sand grains still tracking
your wet touch

that roar we hear
our blood, I fear
still in crashing beat
still from summer’s heat

we plan our futures
dead ahead
still, thoughts of you
‘pon ocean’s bed

we breathe rapidly
the heat not from summer's sun
bodies radiate

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.
