I am the bitter, same as the sweet I wonder if quitting's the same as defeat I hear you should look, before you leap I see nothing clearly, and nothing complete I want to be precious, and yet I feel cheap I am the bitter, same as the sweet I pretend in such depth, sometimes, I sink I feel like a fountain pen, spilling out ink I touch and I mar, despite good intentions I worry I'm weak or I cannot compete I cry at the slightest of condescentions I am the bitter, same as the sweet I understand callouses, bruises and scars I say I love night, without loving the stars I dream of a world with sharp edges removed I try, and I fail, but I never will cheat I hope this poem is by peers approved I am the bitter, same as the sweet * Man... this was worse than I could have imagined.
