I have to admit that I completely stole this from Alicat... uh, wait... Poets don't steal... they use creative license in their art .
Anyhow, with the huge numbers of new poets I see joining our ranks, I figured this would be a good way for us to get to know them, and them us.

"I AM"

I am (two special characteristics you have)
I wonder (something you are actually curious about)
I hear (an imaginary sound)
I see (an imaginary sight)
I want (an actual desire)
I am (the first line of the poem repeated)

I pretend (something you actually pretend to do)
I feel (a feeling about something imaginary)
I touch (an imaginary touch)
I worry (something that really bothers you)
I cry (something that makes you very sad)
I am (the first line of the poem repeated)

I understand (something you know is true)
I say (something you believe in)
I dream (something you actually dream about)
I try (something you really make an effort about)
I hope (something you actually hope for)
I am (the first line of the poem repeated)

To start things off, I am posting my original response to this. http://piptalk.com/pip/Forum80/HTML/003725.html

Cause in my dreams it's always there
The evil face that twists my mind
And brings me to despair.

*grin* And this is a very good ice-breaker challenge, with credit going to XAngel for introducing this challenge her son brought home from school back on the Old Blue forums (the precursor to piptalk).

Not sure if I could get the original Old Blue location, but here's the link to the first instance here.

Was most interesting seeing the 'one hand clapping' line.

Interesting idea...Here goes:

I am a child and an adult.
I wonder if Iíll ever feel like Iíve transcended that bridge.
I hear my thoughts constantly in my head.
I see them intertwining into a tangled mess.
I want to take more risks before Iím dead.
I am a child and an adult.

I pretend I know what Iím doing.
I feel like my life is not my own.
I touch life from a distance.
I worry Iíll never find a place to call home.
I cry about the little things and never about the big things.
I am a child and an adult.

I understand what I need to do with my life.
I say Iím going to get there.
I dream of love without sacrifice.
I try to be moved enough to care.
I hope the effort will suffice.
I am a child and an adult.

Another blast from the WAAAAYYYYY back. You have done a very good and interesting job on this challenge.

Okay...interesting little exercise...makes you dig

I am a dreamer and a doer
I wonder what my future will bring
I hear laughter
I see joy
I want the world to know it too
I am a dreamer and a doer

I pretend I'm fearful - or sometimes that
  I'm not
I feel change in the air
I touch hope
I worry about the well being of those I love
I cry when I see pain
I am a dreamer and a doer

I understand that I am loved
I say so are you
I dream to bring my passions to life
I try to accomplish just that
I hope to have few regrets on my final day
I am a dreamer and a doer

i am me, but belong to her
i wonder what will come to be
i hear my heart cry when it's her i don't see
i see the reality of my hallucinations
i want me to be whom her heart finds
i am me, but belong to her

i pretend my life is not a dream
i feel her presence inside my soul
i touch her existence in my imagination
i worry the unreal will stay that way
i cry as my heart yearns for satisfaction
i am me, but belong to her

i understand i'm in charge of my own life
i say that i'm free, but i'm actually not
i dream of one day holding her in my arms, never letting go
i try to keep myself in the actuality of my life
i hope to find in her the true happiness i am destined for
i am me, but belong to her

I am Your child
I wonder if I do You justice
I hear Your voice
I see Your open arms
I want to trust Your love
I am Your child

I pretend that the things I do dont hurt You
I feel Your arms around me
I touch the beauty of Your face
I worry that I will fail You
I cry because I dont deserve Your love
I am Your child

I understand I could never earn this love
I say that You are real
I dream of Heaven and Your glory
I try to bring You joy
I hope to know You more
I am Your child

Okay, just stumbled into this area, and this looked like fun, so here goes:

"I AM"

I am joy and sorrow
I wonder what life is like on other worlds
I hear sounds of song
I see the ocean flowing
I want peace and harmony
I am joy and sorrow

I pretend I'm flying.
I feel the wind.
I touch the clouds.
I worry I'll disappoint you
I cry when I see pain and sorrow
I am joy and sorrow

I understand we are eternal
I say we can be love
I dream of being good enough
I try to do it right
I hope for better tomorrows
I am joy and sorrow

I am special but ordinary
I wonder if that is possible.
I hear the twanging of the celtic harp
I see myself years before, plucking the strings with my bruised fingers.
I want to return to that past.
I am special but ordinary.

I pretend to be always cheerful
I feel always so detached
I touch a cup of ivory
I worry I shall never be warm.
I cry at my wasted years.
I am special but ordinary.

I understand now that maturity's not worth having
I say thoughtless childhood is worth more
I dream of death every night
I try to stop feeling this, when everyone else does.
I hope to find an escape.
I am special but ordinary.

"more than yesterday, less than tomorrow, i love you"

This is a great way for us to meet each other... and you have all done a very excellent job with it.

I AM smiling...
And tht fact should be enough to cause you to worry.

I was just revisitinig my original post on this, and came up with a question that I cannot answer... (NOTa good sign):

I am hopeful and strong
I wonder how it all began
I hear one hand clapping
I see an imaginary friend
I am hopeful and strong

I pretend I don't care
I feel in love with the Bunny
I touch the thoughts of the young
I worry for the world of my children
I cry for nothing... least of all lost loves
I am hopeful and strong

I understand the love of a child
I say Small stuff is no sweat
I dream the stages and roads
I try for understanding of the false
I hope for happiness and love
I am hopeful and strong

WHAT IN THE NAME OF ALL THAT IS HOLY IS FEELING IN LOVE WITH THE BUNNY????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Whenever I feel blue, I start breathing again...

Ok Ringo, this was fun the first time, but , this time, I'm jamming to my GWAR and Manson,,,so beware the answers!

I am open and real
I wonder if I will find the truth
I hear a who
I see angels dance with demons
I want happiness
I am open and real

I pretend  not to feel pain
I feel a deamons touch
I touch an angels wing
I worry that my son is too much like me
I cry when I think of my dad
I am open and real

I understand Michaels love is true
I say I believe in myself
I dream of wandering thru a large house
I try not to hurt others
I hope to see my best friend soon
I am open and real

I wish all could find the true happiness I have found,,in the eyes of Mike

Ringo,

My husband knows what it is to love the "Bunny", as that is my nickname in the martial arts.  If you've ever seen Monte Python Search for the Holy Grail, you'll understand.  I am the Bunny.

"I AM"

I am Loud, but unheard
I wonder why i'm still breathing
I hear silence
I see perfection crumbling
I want to find love again
I am Loud, but unheard

I pretend i can change
I feel betrayed
I touch my shattered soul
I worry about the future
I cry about the past
I am Loud, But unheard

I understand i am nothing
I say the world must change
I dream about swordfighting
I try To be as good a man as my father is
I hope not to dissapoint anyone
I am Loud, But unheard

I am relentless to the point of recklessness
I wonder whatís out there waiting for me
I hear you calling my name
I see trouble brewing
I want to be loved
I am relentless to the point of recklessness

I pretend not to notice my heartís breaking
I feel an emptiness deep inside
I touch his face in my dreams
I worry that I will never feel whole
I cry every February 28th
I am relentless to the point of recklessness

I understand that change is inevitable
I say that I can move on
I dream about being able to
I try to control my impulses
I hope to be someone I can be proud of
I am relentless to the point of recklessness

I am a dreamer and an optimist
I wonder if Santa exists
I hear bells on angels' robes
I see skies of blue and clouds of white
I am a dreamer and an optimist

I pretend to be someone else
I feel the breath of fairied
I touch the wings of Pegasus
I worry that I dream too much
I cry when nature cries
I am a dreamer and an optimist

I understand that hatred exists
I say that can change
I dream wonderful dreams
I try to keep my feet on the ground
I hope to be a better person
I am a dreamer and an optimist

I am a little bit of my mom and my dad.
I wonder if my marriage will work.
I hear the sounds of the ocean.
I see me and my husband growing old.
I am a little bit of my mom and my dad.

I pretend that criticism doesn't hurt me.
I feel a presence surrounding me.
I touch the ends of the earth.
I worry about my kids.
I cry when I think about a how much my son  has changed my life.
I am a little bit of my mom and my dad.

I understand that marriage isn't what is cracked up to be.
I say "to each his own."
I dream of a house with a yard.
I try to be the best mom I can be.
I hope the best for my children.
I am a little bit of my mom and my dad.
