What is Cool? Now I’m not talking about the temperature, I’m talking about that persona that people tend to think of as Cool. Why am I even bringing this subject up? Actually I didn’t bring the topic up, it was the subject of a recent conversation of mine. It happened to happen 1 January very early, Or exceptionally late on December 31st. My mind set was toward the 31st, since I hadn’t gone to sleep as yet. The year had changed, and kisses exchanged, and toasted glass of Champaign I had a couple of sips and returned to my wine (a very nice little Italian, sweet, red and bubbly) Time had slipped from that moment, the hostess had gone to bed, As had most of the others leaving just three. By that time, I had finished off that bottle of wine, But the motion on the floor (sitting in front of the Fire place) Was to share another bottle, so off I went in search of the next bottle. It was only in the next room, and I thought I was fairly swift about it But when I returned with the opened bottle thus a nice Maryland White, simi-dry, simi-Sweet there were just two. Me and her, taking the spot by the fire as our host had staggered off from. This is when the subject of cool first happened. I believe there is more than one aspect of cool, Defined as stylish, those beautiful bodies in fine clothes, painted and decorated, Defined as a sense of personification where the mannerisms and speech patterns tend to be calming and exhilarating at the same time. Suave, smoothly gracious or polite. Well, My perspective seems to be off these days, with the bad-boy image so popular. So I turn to you the readers and fellow poets What is cool?
