Children

the nurses came running
down the long hall
lined with wheel chairs
carefully dodging
gray-haired men and women
shuffling behind walkers
drawn by unexplained noises
coming from the community room
they entered carefully
nearly hit midair by the sailing ball
as men in their seventies
if only for a moment
became children again

next....whisper

I am nothing special...and my name will soon be forgotten, but I've loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me,this has always been enough.~N.S

Whispers
I hear you call my name
Is it real
Is it fate
I can't concentrate.
Do you want me, do you need me.
I will always remember your sweet whispers

Next one...

Deception

Slip me your pill
of ill will

Send me running
after the invisible shield

Tell me I am safe
within your arms

Then cut me
in the safety of our home

Confusing to see
even more confusing to believe

This race is more than I can bare
taking your knife, I slice into this despair

Freedom at last
never glancing back

Finding truth in seperation
Understanding why I hate your deception pill the best!

Talking to my son tonight, just chatting as you do
Brought back an old memory, thought I'd share with you

Well he's now 24,,,, Bloody great big hunk
This was many years ago,,, was'nt such a lump
Somewhere about two years old... We'd just had another kid
Watched my wife Breastfeeding,,,, Knew just what he missed

Day was pretty magic,,,, you know how Aussie summers are
So I walked him to the beach,,, Wasn't very far
Spread out a towel or two, and let him sit and play
Just a father with his kid, on a lovely summers day

We don't have many rules, in force way down here
About bikini tops, or what the ladies wear
Can always tell the tourists, with the glaring strip of white
The first day that their boobs, are let out to the light

We knickname these White Pointers, for reasons that are clear
On this day in particular, White Pointers everywhere
So like any normal man, I'm gazing left and right
Didn't see young Shannon slipping out of sight

Suddenly behind me, there's a godalmighty scream
Young son in his wisdom,, just had to live his dream
A sweet young girl, real lovely, about sixteen years old
Had just removed her top, feeling really bold

She'd laid down on her back, with her nipples to the air
Not knowing of the danger, on the towel just over here
Now she screamed in desperation, clawing at her chest
Where my son was doing, what babies sure do best

Clinging like a limpet,,, not wanting to let go
to this lovely breast, as white as driven snow
Then as if he realised, no milk was coming here
He spat it out, crawled on back, nose up in the air

As for the young girl, I think she ran away
But I bet she to remembers, what happened on that day

Really apologise if I've jumped in or gone too far off topic
But I only got here today
How About FEAR

Fear abounds
In my heart
Clawing through my body
Wanting out

Fear chills
My bones to the core
I cannot move

Fear breaks
I cry out
No one hears me
I am alone

I am afraid of being alone.
I fear being alone
I loathe being alone
I cannot escape it
Someone help me
I am afraid...

Now...Music

Music:

Winds of change were blowing free
In nineteen hundred and sixty three;
I thought I was freewheeling
But was sliding in the grease.

Hair slicked back and collar up,
Mocking Jimmy Dean.

Then the rebels cause and reason
Came in through my ears
No more Elvis tunes could hold me,
Pop-songs only brought me tears.

Out in the distance
Calling me from where I'd been
I heard a poet singing stanzas,
About hard rain that was coming,
And answers blowin' the wind.

A scratchy voice was wailin'
About  Peace and Love and truth
And I dropped out of society
(Never once thought of returnin')
Because of Robert Dylan.

Although very diffent in the darkness
He shows a very different side to him
He holds me aggressively
and kisses me with more than just passion
The unique way the tips of his fingers
breeze down my back and to my neck.
He whispers strange language to me
that gives me a feel like no other.
The eccentric way his body moves with mine
Gives me a whole another imagination making my thoughts go beyond my wildest dreams.

At 84 itís hard to be impulsive
Age has a way of making
The clock a way of life
This pill at this time
A timetable for everything
Maybe just waking up
Is impulsive enough
At this age
God knows itís
The only
Spontaneous thing left

I really can't seem to get anywhere with the "unintentional laughter" topic, but I would really like to see this thread come alive again.

Somber words and thoughts
Echoing through the silence
As each word is spoken in turn
"He was a great guy"
"Love for all"
"Caring of his family to the end"
Till I thought it would never cease
He was dead and wasn't coming home
Throw his dinner away
"Loved animals"
"Enjoyed music"
Would this go on forever
"Especially Gregorian Chants"
Then in an instant the mood changed
With the spoken thoughts of a teen
Full of sorrow
Irreverent as all
"Who the hell is that?"
The smiles abounded
Everyone trying not to break the spell
The respect due a fallen friend
Until it started with a titter
His littlest niece
Not understanding
Not caring
Giggling at a swear word
Uttered in a church
He was in big trouble now
The silence now gone
Forever banished to the ethos
As one by one the laughter began
Engulfing the entire hall
With only ten knowing why

*this is based on a true event at my baccalureat when the minister made the comparison between Ozzy and Gregorian Chants... and Rich Romero had no clue why.

Next scene....

a snowflake

When all is said
All is done
Still I live
And carry on-
Quiet Riot

Fall
you flew past
with no intention
of ever staying
and more and more
the world changed
to gray sky blankets
it fell
in single ice smiplicity
gleaming in the parted cloud sun
and I smiled
as i watched you
mishapen and abnormal
while baren trees shook
sweeping you from my eye
fly on my simple solace
and gain strength
until you and your kin
cover this city.

next endeavor- write about growing up or maturing.

Split
like snowflakes drifting,
I stumble.
As I try to carry this body,
myself
which has grown so heavy,

so heavy . . . already.

I feel as if I just want to lie down
in the warmth of Her cocoon.
Just for a spell
please,
to rest.

It is so warm here
in Her arms.
So easy to close my eyes,
only for a moment
or two.

I have a lifetime yet.

Before I am called to supper . . .

The engine readied,
set to go,
the grass trembled,
then flew,
flinging itself
into fragrance...

Black Bird Fly..... Just kidding
This is short, but hopefully it will work

Shadow flying on the wind's endless breath
please sympathize with this young dreamer
i long to float with you
and become transparent with the night
experiencing a sleeping life
from a bird's eye.

the next challenge- Hurricane Katrina

Chaos reigns in the marsh
beauty turned to torture
a mother cries with her child

nine months she waited
so happy, a new life!
then distaster came creeping in
she holds the tiny child
and they both weep
as they walk the streets
concrete turned to bayou

the first thing the child felt
in this new world of hers
was the pain of hunger
she was born starving to death

a mother weeps with her child
who goes home so soon

Next!--Write about going home again

Love's a lovely lad
His bringing up is beauty
Who loves him not is mad
For I must pay him duty

These gears are broken,
shifted too far,
rubbed raw or fallen off.
My scar
is not the rusted body,
missing hubcaps,
twisted tie-bar.

But the tread marks
leave me threadbare.
It's been so long
since I've been there --
a distance better measured
by the ease of my despair.

I refuse to reverse,
to return from my home,
to a place I escaped
so alone -- all alone.
Interior damaged,
just flesh and bone.

it has been secretly guarded by goliath
no one has recieved a message
all has been turned away
complete darkness shrouded
thoughts kept in secrecy
and i can't find the password
there has been no three knock combination
to your heart, to your mind.
is there anyway to find you?
the true you
for your words
have been screamed so silently
into the oncoming wind
and i can't move ahead
fear is all that i have found.
your eyes move sparatically
lungs fill to capacity
and your tongue leaves secrets
all remains mystery
and I will be left
only to wonder.

well i attempted. Next write about impact.

Three feet tall
with out a care in the world,
other than when you can go back out and play.

Free to run about
riding bikes and climbing trees,
go back inside crying to mom cause you skinned your knees.
