I was posting at the other site I go to, and I seen a form of poetry I didn't know about. And I like it

Those of you who know me know that I LOVE haikus and tankas ect.  I like the syllable counts.. hehe.

The form of poetry I seen is called Shadorma.  It has 7 lines...

Line 1 : 3 syllables
Line 2 : 3 "
Line 3 : 5 "
Line 4 : 3 "
Line 5 : 3 "
Line 6 : 7 "
Line 7 : 5 "

Here is an example that I wrote.. now.. it is my first one.. so .. be nice LOL.

Rays Of Light

I see the
sun shine down
reflecting gentle
rays of light
from the blue
water that trickles over
weather worn pebbles

From what I could find about this form, it doesn't have to be about any one topic (ex.. haikus are about nature... tankas about love.. ect).  It does not have rhyme.  Just count those syllables.

If anyone knows if I am wrong in what I found.. Please let me know

With that explained.. have fun writing and counting

Oh... please post in here to let me know you where you posted your poem if you choose to take the challange... My puter is down and I'm using Dave's, so I'm not on as much as I usually am right now.  I definately do NOT want to miss anyone's poem   Thanks.

Tara

Color me confused...[now that Easter's here, I'll just dip myself in egg-dye...] but here is what little I found on the Spanish style of poetry, Shadorma...

~*~

The Shadorma (pronounced shad-oor-muh) is another type of Spanish syllabic poem of 6 unrhymed lines.
-----------------------------------
Stanzas : 1
Stanza Type : Sestet
Lines : 6
Accents : Varies
Syllables : Varies between 3, 5, and 7 per line
Rhyme : None
Pattern :

xxx
xxxxx
xxx
xxx
xxxxxxx
xxxxx

~*~
Hence my confusion - this says six...yours says seven lines...does anyone know which is correct?

Hey NAN...we need you!
