I got to thinking "What's the hardest topic for you to write on?" It's always been trying to write about pure, unmitigated joy. I always have a melancholic underpinning. On the flip side, if I concentrate too much on trying to make something "joyful," it comes out sounding syrupy and a bit heartless ...

So my challenge (I love words!): Write a poem about joy for joy's sake. No syrup. No cliches. Just something about beauty and happiness, without anything mentioning the ephemeral ways of time, or the sadness of rising alone, or any of that.

Joy about joy! Can y' do it?

I wonder if I can ...

Post in Open! See y' there!

Yr on drugs if you think I can write something happy, babe.
