In a few weeks, the United States will celebrate "Independence Day". It's a symbol of our freedom as a nation.

PiP has so many members from all over the world that I thought it would be a good idea to learn about other struggles for freedom in other countries.

Now, we could ask our French members to write about French struggles for freedom, but that wouldn't be a challenge.

And this is a challenge! First, you must write a poem (or story if you'd prefer - post it in prose) about a struggle for freedom in a country other than your own! The poem/story cannot be about YOU! It must be about someone else - it can be fictional or about a real person/group/situation.

There you have it. There is only one other stipulation - post it beginning July 3.  You can still post 'Fourth of July' Patriotism poems/stories, but please designate this as the 'Freedom Challenge' in your title.

Good luck!! I look forward to reading your work!!
