This is more of a request than a "challenge"..but I figured if I was going to post it anywhere it should go here. For some *quick* background information on the POINT of this...I'm in a interracial relationship (hes black, im white, not that it matters). The rude stares and ignorant comments in the past few days has depressed the both of us, and I was looking for some kind of "inspirational" "keep your head up" "it doesnt matter" type of poem. I've tried I think a hundred times but I just can't get anything to sound right. The love between us will never change, I'm convinced we'll be together for the rest of our lives, but if any of you have some free time and would like to help me out on this one *sad puppy eyes, pouty lips*...I'd appreciate it so so much. *sigh*, this really HAS been such a long day..don't know what I'd do without my writing lol. Any & Every relationship is difficult (Interracial or not) I want to be able to tell you to "Listen to what they say, b/c it will make you stronger." or "Dont listen to what they say b/c it will make you wiser." but, I honestly feel that the relationship that your in is between YOU & HIM; no one else...it wont be easy, its going to be rough, with unimaginal pain; but always remember what made the relationship work in the first place, what made you fall in love; for then, those people & those lies wont matter at all...it will be alright, my friend... ~Rayne For in much wisdom is much grief |

I smile in the knowing their stares are of jealousy wishing they could have what is between you and me Resentment is clear, still their eyes follow wanting to see where their hearts just can't go We walk in love they judge in self hate wishing they were like us but they simply can't relate Ours is true and honest to the world we have no shame let them go on looking ...play their petty game ~SEA~ (hope it helps)  with all that you are... |

Midsummerrain- thank you for your kind words...I understand what you mean about our relationship being between just the two of us. And it really is. Its just those times that people feel the need to tell us we're not "right" and all of that...sometimes it really does feel like its just me and him against the world. Thank you for writing back to me =) PdV- Thank you for responding. I don't understand either...Love IS Love, no matter what. Nothing can change that. It's not much...it just... "popped in there." ~ Ray from Ghostbusters. Let them glare. I don't care. Two are we. We will be. Always. ~ Too bad about the bigotry you two will always face. I think more people should watch the movie, Guess Who Is Coming To Dinner in order to understand what love is. Good luck. |
