Okay kids. . .it's time to put your pens to paper and your money where your mouth is. . .

I want whoever takes this challenge to use the following phrase in an Uncliche-like way. . . and yes, the phrase may seem cliche. . . but, since we're working on not being too cliche, I know that you'll figure something out. . .

The phrase is (and you have to use it exactly as I have it here. . . and it doesn't have to be at the beginning or the end, it can be anywhere in the poem):

quote:
Let me be your shelter from the storm
The light within your dark. . .

Good luck!!!!  Post your responses to this challenge in Open!!!

Hi Sven,

This looks like a good one, my muse has been on vacation for a while but maybe this will help bring it home,

Love, Cerenity

Let the brilliant stars turn on
Me so you can see my eyes
Be on you searching for
Your smile as you admire the
Shelter I built for us
From the money I won at
The casino in Biloxi where a
Storm was so bad even
The electricity went out
Light a match
Whithin minutes
Your hands
Dark and soft
Touch my flank

As this is a quick one, just flexing my poetic muscle I shall post it here
----------------------------------

Let me be your shelter from the storm
The light within your dark. . .
When your heart is failing
you can tremble on mine,
we shared that first breath
and we shall share the last.

Now there is talk that
I am draining you
in the throws of death,
they may come scalpel bared
but nothing will separate us
my Siamese sister.

"across the unfair divide
where black will never meet white
so read my token lips
as though they never exist"

Let me be your shelter form a storm,
The light within your dark,
Let the cosmic worlds,
Guide me through tough planets,
To the sun of your heart.

Don't ever give in, if you do you've lost everything you've ever had and everything you hope to gain, but if you carry on your already winning.

AD good grief this looks quite hard I'll give it a whirl, I'm not saying I'll do it but I can try and see what happens, and may you have mercy on me if this turns out as hard as I think it will be.

Sven,
I think this will be a taxing on my ingenuity as the unbump facility, but I may give it a go if I can get my wretched muse to kickstart me.
