"I AM"

I am (two special characteristics you have)
I wonder (something you are actually curious about)
I hear (an imaginary sound)
I see (an imaginary sight)
I want (an actual desire)
I am (the first line of the poem repeated)

I pretend (something you actually pretend to do)
I feel (a feeling about something imaginary)
I touch (an imaginary touch)
I worry (something that really bothers you)
I cry (something that makes you very sad)
I am (the first line of the poem repeated)

I understand (something you know is true)
I say (something you believe in)
I dream (something you actually dream about)
I try (something you really make an effort about)
I hope (something you actually hope for)
I am (the first line of the poem repeated)

=============feel free to use mine as an example with the template ...
I recall a lot of people didnt "get it" till they saw a few poems posted as a
sample to follow ...  If I remember correctly when Ali posted this..he said
it had been done before originally by X Angel???

"I AM"  (challenge)

I am a wanna be poet, I am only content when I write,
I wonder why my best inspiration only comes in the middle of the night.
I hear the voices in my mind, old ghosts calling from the past,
I see promise in the light of day and pray it will last.
I want to know true contentment ... I think its finally in sight ...
I am a wanna be poet, I am only content when I write.

I pretend the losses don't get to me, I refuse to pay the cost
I feel like if I don't write ... a part of me will again become lost.
I touch old black and white photos, trying to hold on the memories made
I worry if I don't hold them near, the moments shared might begin to fade.
I cry only in the night's shadows, my tears never to see light ...
I am I am a wanna be poet, I am only content when I write,

I understand that I must first learn to believe and trust in me,
I say thanks to God everyday for this gift and love of poetry.
I dream that my words will help heal the broken heart of a friend,
I try to always be fair and my understanding lend.
I hope to always be inspired even if it is only late at night ...
I am a wanna be poet, I am only content when I write,

Janet Marie

just a note....
I've gotten a few Emails asking questions...
this template is a guideline ...
use the first two words given ..add your poetic answers to the request in the parenthesis ...
but you dont have to rhyme like I did ...
and if you look at Sen's in open you can see
another example of how you can work with in its boundaries ...
some people are more comfortable in the structure and some like to put their own poetic touches
enjoy!!

later I am gators

and can I add...don't credit ME with the challenge...hell, I don't know who it belongs to, but I had to be badgered into doing it the only time I did...I thought it was alicat's, who supposedly got it from X angel..but I got the template from Janet Marie...and now? I am, officially lost.

yes, I remember this.  This is one time I must post something appropriate, I wrote one once but didn't save it and the search forum is not showing it, I'm going to write another one b/c I am a different person now.

Hey I loved your example here.  This template will allows us to really learn about the poet.  I except that challenge.  It's posted in Teen #3.  I hope some of you like it.
