I've ammassed many demons in this life, it seems < !signature-->They visit me while awake and often in my dreams I once thought to ignore them, to pay them no heed But it seems this was a bad choice, very bad indeed I gathered them all up and locked them away from me Sealed tightly in my brain, and threw away the key One day they got out burst free like a volcanic eruption The price I paid was tremendous, for my own deception They wreaked havock on my mind, splintered my soul Hell bent on destruction centered as my goal A gentle hand came, and then there was light It began to soothe my wounds, and encourage me to fight It's still not over, the journey has just begun But know I think it is a battle that can some how be won Sometimes it is hard, the demons bear such power And they seem to come to me in my darkest hour They torture and torment, slice deep into me They laugh at the notion that I could ever be free But I know now that they want me to give in Because my demons are afraid this is a battle I will win So, come on demons, come what may I'll simply deal with you day by day And in the end victorious I'll stand All from the touch of one loving hand Mystical being which makes ink flow Surround me in your incandescent glow Fill my brain with thoughts and rhyme As I try to capture but a moment in time ~Shan~ [This message has been edited by StarrGazer (edited 04-06-2000).] |
