Please play the theme from Mission Impossible while you read this post.

I challenge you to give me a phrase...any phrase.. and I will write a poem using that phrase...then if you like, you must also write a poem with the NEXT phrase suggested..sort of a round robin....

Oh, oh, oh!  I got one.  I know I hardly involve myself with challenges, but I'm going to fix that.     I'm up to this challenge.

"charms strike the sight but merit wins the soul"

~Astraea

"Sometimes stars can only be seen in darkness."

"Sorrow's crown of sorrow is remembering happier things."

This was a toughy!

Sisters born of one mother
But sisters souls apart
One lovely of face
And one lovely of heart

Seek ye beauty outwardly
Or seek it from within
One sister seeks pleasure
One runs from sin

Sisters of the night
Virtues they extol
Charms strike the sight
But merit wins the soul

Sisters of long life
but only one with a soul
The other lives in torment
for beauty is only for show

Just doin' some cruisin' when I came upon this honey and she stuck her thumb out on one hand and raised her skirt to a full tease with the other, so I pulled over. She was 18, so I unashamedly gave her the twice-over and lookie here, what I found:
quote:
Sisters born of one mother
But sisters souls apart
One lovely of face
And one lovely of heart

Seek ye beauty outwardly
Or seek it from within
One sister seeks pleasure
One runs from sin

Sisters of the night
Virtues they extol
Charms strike the sight
But merit wins the soul"
Now you know I haven't got a thing to gain here, right? So I'll speak my mind and say that this poem is truly a work of genius. Me? I'm just a stroke, but this humbled the hell outta me just the same!

Mission Impossible? Fine, if you like, but I picked this one to herald the two sisters.
