Along the same vein as Ms Devine's poetry challenge, I challenge you to write in prose format the things of which you have to be thankful. I know sometimes it seems that there's not much to be thankful for, but believe me, there are things!

Sure, take it down to the wire before issuing a challenge. Pressure makes diamonds of the worst of men.

Done and done, I will do so.

I'm having the devil of a time with a Thanksgiving poem...nothing rhymes with Pilgrim or turkey so I may take you up on this challenge!

This here Thanksgiving is gonna be glum,
No punkin pie for this here pilgrim,
My wife has said, that I'm too wide,
No more sweets or food that's fried,
I'll not get a bite of turkey,
Instead I'm getting some emu jerky.

I know, I know, this is a prose challenge, but since no one has posted any yet, here is a catalog, or list poem, that tells

Things I am thankful for

all natural ingredients
three handsome sons
payday
poetry
online friends
a good bottle of wine
music
a purple car
make-believe
two granddaughters
my job
health
sunshine
a computer with a 14gig hard drive
chocolate
clouds that look like sheep
homemade wheat bread
rain
no rain
half a roast beef po-boy
