Hi...dunno if this is the right place to post this but anyways! I've got a contest- well really, more of a challenge cos there's no monetary reward- at my Poetic WOrld of Words website http://homestead.com/ttjazz/poems.html

The topic is "I am..." and the piece can be in poetry, prose, or any forms of art. All poems in good taste will eventually go onto a site I'm going to create for the contest, and the winners will get a "hard copy" (that is, desktop published LOL) of the entire anthology, plus their poems put on the front page to the website-to-be. If you want to submit your work, please go to my website and post it there. The addy again: http://homestead.com/ttjazz/poems.html

Hope I haven't broken any rules by posting this here.
Farewell

I am the moonlight on the ocean,
I am the whirlwind in it's fury,
I am the scent of Springtime gardens,
I am water in it's sweetest purity.

I am the summer warmth caressing your skin,
I am the glowing embers within your heart,
I am the crystals of freshly fallen snow,
I am the sweetness of a freshly baked tart.

I am truth hiding beneath the veil,
I am the ocean as it exhales upon the shore,
It's gentle sounds a melody,
No tempest to endure.

I am the stars above the slumbering hills,
I am the warmth of the desert sand,
I am a voice of wisdom and peace,
That can be heard across the land.

I am the blinding snowstorm,
I am the mirror imaged lake,
I am the howling storm winds,
I am the terrorizing earthquake.

I am a haunted soul,
Sometimes emotionally lacking,
I am the choppy ocean waves,
That give the shores a lashing.

I am the nurturing mother,
I am the loving wife,
I am beauty, grace and wisdom,
I am a part of life.

------------------
Through poetry my heart and soul truly sing...
~Isis~

I have two- here is the first.

1:34 AM

I am the superficial nihilist
I am the paradox of lies
I'm hunting while I'm being hunted
I am the truth that you despise
I am the burier of the bone
I kill nothing important
Only time, perhaps someday myself
I'm always with people, yet always alone
Im as insignifigant as they come
I am the brilliant moron
The strong-willed doormat
I am the walking contradiction
The living mistake
I am all these things
At 1:34 AM

The second one-

Me(an acrostic)

Sporadic happiness
Yesterday's kind
Self-induced misery
Tortured
Excell at failure
My own worst enemy
Aspirations gone
Trusting of no one
Infinite hate
Corrosion of morals

Deaf to all hope
Emotional destruction
Collapse of sanity
Avoiding the truth
Youth of America

does it have to start with "I am"?
this is my self portrait that i posted on open also

self portrait (a window seat view)

a flower in a pot,
held captive by her roots
some say she's pretty, me,
I don't know.
she reaches for the sun
with all that she knows
and attempts each day
to bloom.
small things bring pleasures
one day at a time
children and puppies, rainbows and blue skies,
dessert at lunch, for
she's a taoist you see,
and her pleasure count
starts anew each and every day.
but deep inside, if you could see,
she doesn't need much to
reach for the stars
she just needs a different
gardener and a pot
with room to grow

I am condradiction,
A oxymoron.
I am a thinker,
Yet an artist.
A mother,
But still a child.
I am a lover,
Yet stone cold.
I am stubborn and willful.
Freespirited,
Yet grounded.
I am what I give,
But I am empty.
I am a sinner,
Yet still a saint.
I am unique,
But like everyone else.
I am me,
Yet still evolving.
