Rush With Death

Silent statues swaying in the wind,
Callow soldiers in endless batallions,
Mark the Field of battle this bloody day.
One threat, one unending carnivorous threat,
Opposes them, entering through the portal
Positioned in the Netherwall; defiance runs.
Monstrous grumblings, rumblings in the ground
Penetrate into the heads, reverberating,
Vibrating, causing unending, yet subliminal pain.
A masquerade of death ensues as helpless
Soldiers rush the beast, Netherwall monster.
Thousands upon thousands are Mowed to the ground,
Like fish in a barrel full of mines.
Silent screams sound through the bright day,
Last utterance of a week-old race.
Shortened, cut down, annihalated,
Soon born again, rising from the bodies
Like a Phoenix from fire, they start anew,
Preparing again for the coming of the Netherbeast.
And the Engine is shut down, to cool in the Spring air.

(sorry it's a repost)
The Meeting

Silent screaming
words streaming
lips moving
nothing proving
endless chatter
empty matter
heart not beating
death by meeting.

This is more about what I couldn't do at work!

DEAR BILL

Oh praise be to Billy you’ve done it again
We sacrificed pig a goat and a hen
Danced naked at Stonehenge worn sackcloth at dawn
And buried a bat and a toad in the lawn
But finally we got your software on this damn machine
Now we’re writing because we’d like to come clean
Seventy eight hours installation is a shit load of fun
But we really need to get this program to run

Oh Billy, oh Billy please heed our call
Your database is driving us half up the wall
Your cabs keep on crashing (which is kinda swell)
And to top it all we’re running the wrong DLL
Your video drivers careered off the tracks
We really need some help from your anoraks
It did work last Friday after ERROR = NULL
Just long enough to tell us the log file was full

We’ve shot the mail server, bought pigeons instead
We need your software like a hole in the head
Tony’s pulled all his hair out and you’ve driven Dylan to drink
Which wasn’t as hard as you might at first think
Dave’s still heavily into Basic, he’s living in a wood
Going steady with a flower child in a red riding hood
Pete let loose on Monday just jumped in his car
Said something about Poland and starting a war
I moved into Marketing, I’m doing all right
In fact I’ve an idea that I think just might
Sell to the public, with a slot on the tube
If we try pushing your software as the new Rubik’s cube

the worst thing has happened.
she died today. a mixture of alcohol and tylenol - one too many times.
her brother, sister-in-law and child came tonight to clear her things as if she were never here.
how my heart ached as i watched their tears.
what to say, what to do, today my job was shit.

I started a project today
The deadline is sometime next May
I just have to make it
I can't even fake it
Or my boss will have something to say.
