This water on the table is exactly your eyes.
I push my fingers through, to feel you clear.
Reflections come off of my hands, to palm.
I wish I could drink you. To see you there.

I see lonely stars glued to the rain.
They spark under streetlights before they break.
When I let go, I can taste our old kiss
in something new. In smell of shampoo.

Our past selves jump; the present falls prey.
I watch outside the wet green shadows.
You absorb my shape. You wipe me away.

She said burn ... together.
