My mother and father sit on the bed
fighting and yelling and filling my head
amid the bolts of lightning and thunder
my mouth is repeating the words that I wonder
my sister is crying my brother is too
I tell them to shut up, it’s the best I can do
I tell them they’re worthless, they get in the way
they can’t cook a meal so why do they stay
they can’t even work to bring in some money
they’re stupid, they’re boring, they even look funny
I stomp and I curse and think about hitting
but come to my senses and say that I’m quitting
Like some great magician who’s pulling out rabbits
I say that I’ll quit all of my habits
And as the door opens I beg for forgiveness
Don’t tell our parents I’m into their business

Is this from an oldest son perspective?...like Nan says interesting view
but with a humourous slant

Lauren~

I would rather have one breath of his hair,
one kiss of his mouth,
one touch of his hand
than an eternity without it.

echo, echo, echo all

deep underlying message, great flow, wonderfully woven, sad

bumpity, bumpity, bump!

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
