It’s Not All Bad
By Larry Chadwick

It’s for the void we feel inside,
That makes all these tears we’ve cried.
But it’s your tender love and grace,
That always puts a smile on our face.

Your brother acknowledged that this is sad,
But reminded me that it’s not all bad.
That if we were thinking like we should,
Then we would see in this some good.

I had to press him for some reasons why,
At a time like this I should do more than cry.
He is still as smart as ever you knew,
And this is what he said of you:

Ginger will never have to bury her brother,
And she’ll never bury her dad or mother.
She’ll never know the pain of a divorce,
On the chance she chose wrong, of course.

Ginger never knew she was about to die,
She never even suffered or wondered why.
So through his tears he had a smile,
Your brother is so like you, my child.

You have an amazing family. I am deeply touched by your son's wisdom and compassion. It is obvious that your son and daughter both received the best any father could give. Loving hugs to all, Kacy

Hello Larry

It seems to me that your children have the same valuable qualities as yourself.  The love you project through your words is so heartfelt and how proud your children must be to have such a devoted and caring father. I know I would be more than proud.

Take care my friend

Right, Larry, it is so important to look for positives even when it seems impossible for them to exist. Another one is that, for those who believe, Ginger sits with God, a place we all aspire to find one day. Very good thoughts here, my man

Sue,
Thank you so much. I can't imagine a stronger bond between child and parent then what I have known. It hasn't been fantasy land but it has been wonderful. You do your papa proud.

Noah,
Well at 31 Larry Jr. has made good use of his years. But he always has been wise for his age. Thank you Noah, always.

Michael,
Absolute truths you speak. And from a papa who understands the difficulties of hardship. Thank you kind sir.

Lyra,
Always, thank you so much. Peace to you.

Nan,
Dear lady, I believe I do and thank you for that.

Take care of this boy of you Larry, he has wise and beautiful thoughts

He's reversing the thought of 'sad she can't anymore....' to 'glad she wouldn't have to...'

and that's good

Beautiful, tender poem, thanks

Your son is very wise and like I told you last night, you won't have to worry about the guys Ginger dates now, as up there they are all "angels"     I hope you show this to him as it shows pride of both Father, and of Son.
