i.
She knocked the headboard off my hotel wall.
I smelled her on my hands, the bed --
the pages of our poetry
(the soap).

Her mouth is liquid fire.
Her heat exhausted me.
So sand in the sea.
Her ocean drowned me.

How she opens her mouth;
closes her eyes. She
closed around me
butterfly close.

Left me yr pollen,
yr spread wings.
So soar away.
So sore, sore day.

Who is she that takes
my heartbeat, my breath
and my sweat?
Forever. Forever. Lori.

ii.
Our skin was pockmarked and playful.
Our bones were weary and beautiful.
Globe street lights housed the light of stars,
turned inward for traveler's way.
The moon set stone in rose-black cloth.
My eyes beheld her storm, were swept away.

iii.
Her artwork was my heart.

We fell asleep in cotton;
awoke in fired purpose.
Her lips were bones of touch,
unbroken in their shine.

The clouds now shine like keys.
Entryway impassive.
Hold the sun to me.
Your warmth helps out my shade.

Her artwork is my heart.

She said burn ... together.

I actually read this with caution--it was like unfolding a bit of lace that was saved between parchment, in the chest up in the attic...

awe...

but almost embarrassed, as this read so voyeuristic...

very intimate. very special. very YOU.

anyone ever tell ya love looks damn good on you and your poetry.
these are awesome inspires Mike...truly.

When mans concern narrows, poetry reminds him the diversity of existence
