Yet another cover up by the Catholic Church which has spread across the papers here like wildfire. An archbishop knew of a priest who on more than one occasion had interfered with young children, including his own nephew. This priest was sent from one parish to the next in order to try and cover his tracks yet each place just fueled his evil ways and he continued to prey on innocent children. Now many families are coming forward and saying that the church offered them bribe money in order to keep them quiet and to keep the Catholic Church from having its reputation tarnished....far too late for that I feel.

* * * * *

You betrayed the trust of many
In order to satisfy your needs
You hid behind your 'faith'
And went about your evil deeds

One of your victims was your nephew
Now he lives a life of shame
You robbed him of his innocence
As you played your wicked game

Each time there were complaints
The catholic church sent you away
A new town with innocent children
Upon how many did you prey?

You went to jail for a while
But the devil remained inside
More victims were coming forward
For how much longer could you hide?

The church offered bribes to the families
Surely $50,000 should ease the pain
But these families wanted justice
They weren't looking for financial gain

The church knew of your ways
Yet it turned a blind eye
Now the clergy should beg forgiveness
For in faith many can no longer rely

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Sue, this is soooooo terrible indeed, sweet friend, my heart cries out to all the children abused and molested in this crime and I too think those responsible should be ashamed of themselves, for they are the ones who should actually be seeking penitence and forgiveness for their wrongs! (sad sigh) I am Catholic also and this saddens me dfeeply to see young innocent children being taken advantage of like this, sweet friend, I join you in your thoughts of sympathy for them all, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Sue:  This terrible situation seems to be worldwide in the Catholic church. More and more is coming to light.  It makes me wonder how anyone can belong to their church anymore?

One Of The saddest days is when we realize that our religious leaders are as human and at times as corrupt as the inmates at the nearest police station...and they think that they financial abilities will buy them off...

I have a lot of thoughts here, best left for Philosophical discussion, I believe...

Good write, Sue...

This is awful, Sue! I hope they sentence him to life. No one should ever get away with this. No matter who they are.

Dear Sue,

This is a sad time for the Catholic Church.  I feel such grief for the victims and sadness for the truly holy priests who are innocent of these scandals.  This has created a lot of confusion but it doesn't shake my faith in God.

That's a heavy duty post Sue but you wrote it so very well and totally honest feeling......
I know we're all human but these practises that are being uncovered all the time are disgusting. What should the consequences be? At least excommunication from the church and the severest of disciplinary action!!  But what do they do?
They try to cover it up!
Some of the world's financial observers are predicting total bankruptcy of the Catholic church over the next few years. There's indications that only a small portion of this has been revealed to date. Estimations are that law suits eventually are going to run into the billions!
All this in the name of God?!?
I know that the true God has nothing to do with such disgusting practises.
You hardly ever see one of these guys ever open a bible yet they say they're a direct representative of God. Oh they hold the Bible in thier hand sanctimoniously but do they open it and read passage after passage? If they do it's very seldom and it's over with quickly and on to business matters.
I wonder how many of them get out thier Bibles and read Romans chapter one, verses twenty-four to twenty-seven...which reads....
"God, in keeping with the desires of their hearts, gave them up to uncleaness, that their bodies might be dishonored among them...God, gave them up to disgraceful sexual appetities, for both their females changed the natural use of themselves into one contrary to nature; and likewise even the males left the natural use of the female and became violently inflamed in thier lust toward one another, males with males, working what is obscene and recieving in themselves the full recompense, which was due for thier error."
Well, I say that slowly but surely they are recieving full recompense due for thier error. Authorities investigating these degrading sexual acts are discovering that they've just touched the tip of the iceberg so to speak.
So if a person's going to be religious then they should adhere to the teachings of the Bible but if they choose another course in their life then that's a personal decision that the individual has to live with on thier own terms.
But let's drop the HYPOCRISY!
Sorry to go on so....I enjoyed your poem very much!!
This is probably not for this forum...I just got a bit wound up

Another tragic moment revealed... I do hope
that these incidents bring about radical
change in the clergy of the church...on the
views of celebacy....

I hope that God gives the perpetrators
strength that they might have the courage
to admit to all of their wrongs...and
take responsibility for their actions...
Taking the responsibility away from their
victims...
