Wrong to stir
the past by opening
doors best left closed
just to experience again
what I thought I used to
know~

What I thought...

It was true enough

I'd loved you so much
that even the admission
of it now hurts as much as
it did when you said good bye

You questioned once the validity
of  it all,
too much, too soon, too little,
too late and honor had to prevail
leaving my world to slowly unravel
I know I shouldn't have waited
for as long as I did, hoping in vain
but my heart insisted & I was
powerless against it...

I'd even dealt myself a fatal blow
in an effort to hurt you
succeeding in only pushing you
further away

Don't you see?
you were everything I'd
ever wanted~ flaws included
if only I were patient just a little
longer...

But it was too late
even before it began,
it was too late...
so I stumble over this
earnest apology much
in the same manner
that I'd stumbled over
love never promised...

please,
forgive me...

It seems to be written somewhere that this is going to happen to the majority somewhere along the line of life.........This is a real heartbreaker RT

Wow. Do you know how many years I lived this?? You put the love, the longing, in words. I hope I never have to revisit that place. Well written Tier.
