(Sorry I don't have a picture available for this poem, this is a poem about the beautiful St. Mary's Glacier I am so blessed to have in my home-state Colorado and the beautiful inspiration it always gives me!   )

Dawn at St. Mary's
By: Noah Eaton
6/1/02

I'm breathing synecdoches
Married to my ear
Skipping across amethyst skies in a pongee breeze
There's a chapel in the sky
Where angels light their candles
Where cherubs spread the pomace of life

I see it all, imbued in pompeian red
Polyphemus moths and bluebirds singing with them all
Rehearsing a catharsis in summary
Making an unlikely hero of every Scaramouch
Making comedies of every tragedy
Shaking a tree for every prayer

High above
I can quench my thirst of the drought
High above
I am only an angels arm-length from the stars

Here I can play Solitaire
With the butterflies, being a good loser
Watching them flutter happily to each winning hand
Streaking rainbow light through the morning view
Two-step in prism tango
Weaving a tiara for Mother Nature's head

I dig a ditch
To bury Gethsemane
Planting henna over all of God's country
Every time I watch the sun rise
Upon this high glacier
I can always hear Mother Nature cry happily in verse...

"Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..."

Shakira

Ah Noah!  The beauty of that glacier has you transfixed into a perma poet. You can't escape your addicted to this recurring beauty so you have to write about it.....

"I see it all, imbued in pompeian red
Polyphemus moths and bluebirds singing with them all
                              Rehearsing a catharsis in summary
Making an unlikely hero of every Scaramouch
                              Making comedies of every tragedy
Shaking a tree for every prayer"

and so on as you write about it so beautifully!

How I would love to see your breathtaking sight.
Noah, this line, 'There's a chapel in the sky Where angels light their candles...' just conjured up the most wonderful image for me. Thanks Hon.  Hugs, Marti

if a more perfect sight
be that of what angels see
it would be the grandeur and majesty
of a floating iceworld.

You must be the angel-journalist picked to write about it, Noah!
Love the terms and new metaphors, amigo!  Great inguenity
and originality!   I could live for those moments of naturific wonder, Noah.
They change our life just in the viewing.

your gift for vividness and your SAT-busting vocabulary make for an incredible read and eliminate the need for a picture to be included.

i wish i could find such a place. i'd say count your lucky stars, but it sounds like you already know how many are out there in that piece of heaven you're writing in.

great words!

So very well done ... and I got to get into my dictionary, too

I can only agree with those who posted before me. *S* You've painted a vivid picture with your beautiful words... no further graphics were needed. *S*
