I wrote this in Dutch for my downstairs neighbour on his 50 years marriage anniversary. Titia translated it for me.

as if I was entering a different world
one full of joy and people dancing wild
the other merely a room
with cool white walls
in fading evening light,
the invalid in bed, pale face
her hands tied,
so she couldn't hurt herself
In her eyes only the fear
of not understanding
enduring pain
from dawn till dawn everlasting
and then there's him,
her husband,
trying his best to ease her life
again and again
his life is only duty,
performed by love,
because now
he's only living for her

Life on the internet begins at...90!

Muys darling girl OH MY This is simply stunning writing, utterly utterly stunning. How beautiful the words in this are, the flow is as smooth as silk, the phrasing perfect, and the timing is absolutely spot on. Without a doubt you are the best at capturing a thought in a net of wonder.

How touching that the husband takes such good care of his wife in her time of need. Some love’s can overcome the greatest of challenges laid before them.

Dear Mom, I just want you to know that it is a pleasure to translate your poems, because there's so much passion in them.

Go on writing, there are a lot more in you, I know.

Love is timeless with each hold that it takes. How sadly beautiful this was.

Enjoyed your tender thoughts very much~
