I’m busy but my days do lack that something that I need
I’ve slowly turned unhappy since my flowers turned to weed

My heart was once so overjoyed with what I now call youth
The years have passed, the times have changed and now there’s just the truth

My body’s changed with attitude; each quest now seems so great
The dreams I had for future years, I think will come too late

I feel my body draining of the patience it once had
I tend to delve now deep within, through good times and the bad

I know not of my feelings, but I know that they exist
A life fulfilled with fairytales, the goodbyes must have kissed

So what will fill the void I feel, for pain I cannot wreak?
What will heal this broken heart, when all its strength is weak?

They say that time does heal each wound, but can well create
And heartache slowly takes its toll, until it’s just too late

So only prayers and calls of hope and hiding from the fact
Can make each day more bearable and living just an act

Till something comes to change it, to bring my heart its peace
Then from the feelings hidden deep, I’ll find some just release

Rick,I am sending long distance hugs. I know just this feeling. And I have no idea how to make it better.

Thanks for the reply Sandra, we must all change as the years go by, as must our expectations, the person once has disappeared and the other has changed.

Rick
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this beautifully rhymed philosophical ramble.
Filled with sage reflections and also the yearning of heart!
Good work!!

Do not think you are alone in these feelings,
and the fact that you have come to acknowledge
them, shows greater growth than you might imagine,
just now.

Yes, Rick...so many of us know exactly what you are saying.
I would like to say it will get better, soon,
but it will all be determined on how you decide
to work within your own mind...

my prayers are with you...

I like the way you’ve written this piece. very reflective and self searching.

I know not of my feelings, but I know that they exist
A life fulfilled with fairytales, the goodbyes must have kissed

Love those two lines especially.

It just makes me so mad thinking about how there are so many people like us that have been hurt and feel like this.  thx for sharing though.
