Yellow, Orange and Red

Yes, it is a wondrous vision
Never have I seen such a glorious sunset
The yellow does truly make me feel as though
I’m soaring on the wings of elation!
That is how I feel when you sit next to me like this

You are my soul mate, and soul mates
Are wrapped in yellow
It is the kindness we show each other,
The respect and the honor we bestow
Yes, our friendship is yellow
And glows brilliantly down from the sky

It is a rainbow sky, indeed
And orange is the solidity of
our friendship
It gathers all the yellow and seals it
with a mixture of red
and the sunset has written our togetherness
across the sky

The crimson is shining on my face
because it is the blush of passion
It originated here in our hearts and the
sky is reflecting our love and sending it back
to the ripples of the sea

The sea is a mirror of all that we have
and all that we are
It makes the colors move with life

But now the sun is sinking
The air carries the coolness of evening
The colors are changing
except for a cloud of mist that has captured them
trying hard not to let go of this moment

A flash of glory pierced my eyes and my heart
with burning scarlet and gold
and citrus flavors of life

For me, the colors have not disappeared,
though I have never seen them
Sometimes the blind can see more clearly
than those with sight

Let us go home now and I will describe to you
the magnificent sunset
of yellow and orange and crimson
that is etched in my eyes

For by then, you will have forgotten
and I will keep the moment alive

Is there anything you cannot do? *S* Your rhymes are beyond superb... but while less frequent, so is your free verse. *S* I enjoyed this very much, Elizabeth.

Brilliant writing Elizabeth, you paint the sunset with such vivid emotions.

This piece, as I have come to expect, is exquisite

You certainly can keep the moment alive! Every moment's alive in your superbly rhymed and flowing poetry. This is no exception!
Beautiful Elizabeth! Lots of insight into the images of color perception!

beautiful Liz.  There really are some wonderful sunsets here in Pa aren't there?  I could see this one from here....*s*

Like a red brick,
in a white wall
somebodies brush
forgot to paint...
lonely....(as sung by Tracy Lawrence..)

Liz writing verses that don't perfectly rhyme.  I never thought I'd see the day.  And, yanno what Liz?  You write just as beautifully this way as that.

A great flowering sunset
One where the sky is green
Foretells of yellow rain
A sun-rose
Red with clouds
Flowers later in the morning

Your writing's better every read...and about that "not rhyming" stuff, mine usually don't when I try...LOL....hiya sweets

Oh my god Liz.

This is the most beautiful thing you have ever written. I am so glad I came across it. Speechless, I really don't know what to say. You should put this on one of your special pieces of paper - and frame it, and hang it on the wall.

Marvellous.
