Affixed by spindly spiny legs
upon the flowered spikes
in his crunchy armor black
with little red racing stripes

He devours my gladioli
The coleus are long gone
Dinner music provided
by evening cricket song

My rain lilies disappeared
under his grinding little jaws
The daisies all are missing hunks
their leaves are fraught with flaws

If he dined alone, I’d let it slide
but he brings a lot of friends
My poor garden suffers
so this has got to end!

I’m not one for chemicals
and all that chemi-killing
I’m open for suggestions
if anyone is willing

I need some good home remedies
so send them, one and all
How to get smushed locust
off my nice clean walls?

(yeah... fraught with flaws. Say THAT three times fast.)

I think a few of us know a
good Bugman...

He'll be here, soon enough...

hehehe... I almost put a disclaimer at the bottom apologizing to that Bugman about not wanting to use the chemicals!

I promise to call on him if I can't get rid of the little chompers. They really are eating up EVERYTHING and driving me insane. I grow a lot from seed and they have just obliterated all my hard work!

Ha, nasty little buggers! Don't have those here, but do have some other troublesome bugs.

What I really hate about summer is when the bugs start coming in the house to cool off!

PLEASE DON'T POISON MOTHER EARTH with unnecessary chemicals. Email my friends at Rincon-Vitova Insectaries in Ventura, California,(rinconvitova.com) or call your local University agricultural extension agent for a possible biological or physical control method. HAHA, it sounds as if you found one effective physical method already. But seriously, chemicals should always be the absolute last resort.

OK...I must say that you have found my weak
spot....my thumbs are not green,  never have
or will be...

BUTTTT....I can spray a mean chemical can...
from 20 paces...blindfolded....standing on
one leg....(Sure she believe me,  can't
you tell?)

Some life forms can be so irritating and destructive...but, enjoyed the humor you found while thinking of a solution.
