Fields of Lilies

I’ve spoke of lilies many times
In the jesting of my rhymes
The ones that fill my fields of late
That bloom and taunt me of my Fate.

They’ve crowded out my daffodils
The glory of my wiles and wills
And changed for me a deeper gold
The gold of young to gold of old

I love the lilies of my field
Apart from pain within the yield
They offer up the kindest lace
That wisdom comes with times embrace.

They tender me a soft release
Surcease of age an altarpiece
Perspective of my fields of goal
A place to rest my weary soul

They fill my mind with golden sway
They offer me another day.

Seymour darling boy this is absolutely beautiful your writing content and style consistently superb and this is as always absolutely perfect.

Am I forgiven for being late again, I have a valid excuse, honestly. I could say I’ll get Keth to write me a note but I know she’d say Mushy has been trying to do too many things at once. Actually it’s not that……… I’ve had a power-cut here since 7am and I’ve only just got it back. The power I mean.

Anyway that is all by the by this is utterly utterly beautiful writing, oh how I miss my soul being washed by your wondrous words of beauty.

Am I forgiven my tardy appearance today? Mushy blows a kiss and flutters her eyelashes Thank you darling boy

Love and warm stuff
As always
Mushy

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the eathquake wind and fire
Oh

They’ve crowded out my daffodils

No, no, NOOOOOOOO! *G* That's unacceptable, Seymour... for however beautiful lilies are, daffodils are still my favorite flower... help them out and move the bulbs to the front! *G*

Seriously... this is beautiful... If we could only accept all inevitable change with such grace and learn to find the loveliness in our new surroundings. *S* I think of change as a dirty word. *G* You've found its charm.

they leave a scent so lingering,
and time it is but fingering
the want of me, or shall it wait
pray the lilies bloom my gate...

I just love lilys, Sy...they are my favorite flower...except maybe for daisies...

I especially love the orange freckled tiger lilies which grow along country roadsides...

Thanks for sharing this with us.
