You are the first bite of anticipated measure.
You are the aftertaste lingering in mind.
You are the extinguisher of newborn thirst.
You are the aroma of stern vintage wine.

Mine is the satisfied
Soul that you please.
Mine is the pleased
Flesh that you satisfy.

You are the comfort brought forth by true down.
You are the quiet of hushed counting sheep.
You are the calm of soft flannel Pajamas.
You are the sweetness of well-needed sleep.

How nice it is when we have someone to fulfill our basic needs, be it a husband, wife, or friend. Enjoyed your poem.

Thank you muchly for your replies.  I really like it here, on the blue pages, Nan, so you'll be seeing more of me for sure!  And Madame Chipmunk~thank you.  I love that feeling, too.  It's around 1am here now, and I really need that coziness!  If you can't have it, write about it....right?  hahaha!  Peace to you each.

Sydney....this poem is so softly warming
and reflective of contentment and happiness.

Sort of reminds me of lying in bed...watching
someone you love sleep....just watching...
with a smile on your face,  and maybe even
a small tear welling..

Thinking.... I love you...

Beautiful work here, says so much about the simple things in life and how much they mean.  Like this lots.

Strive for higher levels, if they seem out of reach... Grow, and they will get closer.

I really like this Sydney!

                              "Mine is the satisfied
                               Soul that you please.
                               Mine is the pleased
                              Flesh that you satisfy."

If you've got that going for you then you've got the world by the tail! No implications intended!!

Mr. Magnus ~ "You got it!"  Thank you for reading my stuff and sharing your thoughts!

JamesMichael ~ Mmmmm Thank You.

Thunderkyss ~ Yes, the simple things.  I find there is little outside of satisfying the mind and body that is really important.  That guideline helps to "not" sweat the small stuff.  Thank you for reading.

and Ethome ~ Thank you.  I've been admiring your literary expressions, and am flattered that you stopped by to comment on this post.  It is truly flattering.  It is also scarey that most lately it does seem that I have the world by the tail!
