Night was grafted onto morning
dawning into a soft grey
like fur on a kitten.
She rolled toward
the empty side of the bed,
startled to find him
still there,
sleeping with quiet, even
breaths.
Her mind raced
out onto the farm
"Oh no, he's late -
damn that alarm clock,
we have to get another"
Then she heard
the rain and smiled
She'd forgotten the
sound of it, and
how he felt at
seven-thirty on a
Wednesday morning.
She slowly kissed him
awake...
there was much to be done

Now this is my kind of writing...I love  this style. You pulled it off extremely well, my friend.

(smiles) Awwwwwww, i too love this thought of a lazy lovely morning like this, sweet friend, this is wonderful, I too feel as long as there is something to crow about, no rooster can ever interfere! (sigh) This is lovely, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

So if this is autobiographical,
you live on a farm?  How life
is dictated by the rise and fall
of the day, less rain...

and how rainy days can be so much
more, if there are not too many...

Enjoyed!

jwesley - thanks so very much! A rambling of a sleepless night more than a style, I think?

Noah - love that about the rooster - just too cute! Thanks!

Sunshine - not autobiographical, just insomnia and drought... but living in a farming town I can say you are so correct
in knowing how the days are ruled. Thanks for reading!

Whewwwww!

does that one word or exclamation say
anything about the sensuality of this
poem....Me thinks so....

Here I go again playing catch-up hehehe

Martie - thank you dear. I hope one day to write as beautifully as you.

Magnus - Sometimes there is drought when even it storms outside. I say tear the roof off and let the rain in...

I grew up on a farm and rain never interfered with my chores... just made them more miserable. *S* But maybe I was being sent outside for a reason other than chicken's breakfast?? LOL I enjoyed this very much. *S*

How sweet and subtle, very well versed too.

Oh how I loved this one, Helen...
especially the sound of the rain and the raw sensuality...a lovely combination, and you worded it so beautifully.
