jackals

eat to the bone
then
eat the bone

it is but a game
wit of will
versus
instinct of survival

one jackal does not a mad dog make
but a pack -
a pack fights with the jaws of one
and the experience of many

don't expect a jackal to touch gloves
and come out fighting a gentleman's bout
don't laugh at a jackal
no matter how good their joke is
because
you
are the punchline

the secret to living another day
when jackals circle
is learning how
to make a jackal cry

Jeff darling boy Oh my word, this is utterly gorgeous, HALT! Stop right there, is it legal to have poetry this spectacular and wonderful? I think I shall have to protest this is just too perfectly divine darling boy, absolutely wonderful. The power you’ve incorporated into this poem is incredible. Is this good? Do witches cast spells? Mmmmmm it’s a blinding poem darling boy, absolutely blinding. That means I love it utterly utterly love it

Love and warm stuff

(big hugggsssssss) Yes, yes, and the moment that we touch a jackal to be sentimental and cry, then we can make more lions out of jackals and offer them the sense of loyalty and compassion to be prowess and largesse and harmony is made! (sigh) This is excellent, sweet friend, I just love the way you write, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Jeff, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Do you have a pack after your back? My guess is political jackals triggered this one.
Interesting write!

Hi Nance!  Lovely to see the Enchantress of the Night here.    I didn't mean to be so
frightening, honest I didn't, but power-pieces seem to just appear on my Microsoft
Word screen.  I couldn't stop 'em if I tried.  Bigger huggs back at ya, Nancy.
Hope you had a great holler-day last weekend.

Dulcy, my Sweet Baby:
That's the idea, of course, is to find some way to 'mass defang' the whole bloomin'
lot of 'em!  Where is the bite of a wild dog when the teeth are absent?  I mean really:
surely they can't GUM me to death.  hmmmmm now that's kind of sensual, in a
demented sort of way. . .

Maaaaashaaaaa Maaaaashaaaaa, that is not a sunset you see in BritainWorld.
That is the effervescence of my blush seen half a world away!!  Coupled with
this suntan/burn from too many hours in the sun, I look like a rock lobster
with a sheet-eating-grin SEG    Hey, I hope you are feeling better.  Got all
worried about ya last week.  By the way, that was one of the nicest replies
I think I have ever received.  Thank you sweet gal!  Give my regards to
Krissy, and keep sharing your smile!  You are contagious, do you know that?

Sey:  Hey Guy!  A special treat to know I am read by the likes of a good poet
like you.   Not exactly the kind of kiss me kate poem today, I will have to admit.
I think you see the lines between the lines, here, tho…..*smile

and apologies for not being around more.  I can't even begin to tell you all
how busy these past 2 weeks have been.  hey hey hey  *smile*

Martie:  how's one of my very favor-ite poetesses??    You and I share an
obscure gift of imagery, so I will tell you what prompted this.  Remember the
movie, Cat People?  I don't know why, but that song by David Bowie, Cat
People, left this picture of cats circling.  Then, I thought of how people in real
life, Cat People in their own right, prey in groups on single people, until their
weaknesses are pointed out, singularly.  Hence, the line about surviving when
they cry.   L*rd knows, we have been pursued by enough jackals in the world,
huh?  But there is a way to beat them…..*wink*  Thanks Martie-Gal!
You always make me think with your poetry.  I greatly enjoy reading your work!

Noah old buddy:  How have you been?  Okay, I trust . . .
You have an interesting take:  how we teach the vicious to embrace the gracious
part in each of us, giving the Big Cat even more power than they had:  the power
of BOTH strength, and grace.  That is Supppppper cool.   Your perspectives have
poetic qualities all their own, Noah!  Verrry cool!

Jwesley, The Main Dude:
It is an honor to reply to your reply.   As I said earlier, this is kind of a 'guy' poem
in its predatory nature, but I think all of us can relate to having been chewed on
by a pack of wild laughing jackals as our weaknesses were preyed upon.
Thankx, Man!  Very much!

How are you KC?   Actually, for about the 6th time in about 10th
year, the layoffs at my company are beginning again.   Crime-anetly!
I have managed to survive them, somehow, although it was close a
couple of times!  Hey, I am here hit or miss.  Please send me your thinking
poems thru email if I miss them here, ok? The ones you like?  I would
greatly appreciate it!  Be well, and take care.

Hi Sunshine!  I could use a bit of it, this late in the evening.   There is a way
to make a jackal or hyena cry:  you separate them from the pack, take them
head-on, and they lose their power!  I like the way you think, Sunshine!
Thankx for chipping in!  Appreciated greatly!  Yeppers!
