Jelly Bean

Walk around behind the scenes,
What’s it like to be a jelly bean?
Hypothetical to a meager point,
Yet, possibly a thought to anoint.
Small, and hardly visible to you,
It wonders, if anyone has a clue.
Always colorful, and full of zest,
Certain ones are chosen to be best.
Others left behind, never to savor,
A human touch, or a simple favor.

Lock them in a jar, their glass bubble to reality,
Never to allow them to experience simple vitality.
Their world of littleness, their world of dejection,
Just waiting, and hoping for a futuristic reflection.

Walk now in front of the scenes,
Do you recognize a jelly bean?
Could it be such an unusual point,
And, as so, a means to never anoint?
Small, yet so full of gifts for you,
They would even love to play “Clue”.
Rolling around, they giggle in zest,
Designing ways to please you best.
A world of love, awaits one to savor,
Given a chance, your heart wins favor.

(smiles) Awwwwwww, this is soooooo cute, sweet friend, I love jelly beans, and there are indeed flavors that stand out above the rest to me, like cappuccino and watermelon and cream soda and jalapeno! Mmmmmmmm! (kiss on cheek) This is wonderful, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Miss T. Eyed,

This is an amazing poem. I know exactly how the jelly beans feel. Right now, everyone around me is busy planning my sister's wedding and because I am disabled, I am being overlooked as someone who can help with all the preparations.

This poem applies to so many facets of life. Anyone who is overlooked as a friend, love, etc, just because their outer appearance does not fit someone else's idea of the perfect jelly bean.

Thanks for writing this wonderful poem.

Another smack of life!  I am really enjoying your work, saved this one too, and you are definitely a favorite now.

There is nothing means more to me than
my faith, my family and my friends.
