Sing Me A Rainbow

Sing me a rainbow, in colorful hues
pinks, yellows and greens
and cadence of blues

a prism of brilliance
trapped in the sky
a chromatic melody
heard with the eye

gracefully arcing
into the mist
it's notes and it's chords
with lyrical twist

harmonic tinting, sonorous glinting
a symphony blushes into my brain
the sounds of those colors
a magic refrain

Oh! I would if I could
but I can only hum,
I would need a bucket
for anything else...

This is whimsical AND delightful!

That's great.  The imagery is amazing and it indeeds takes you mind into the atmosphere it provides.

Don't hold back the words you really mean.

This is so precious and so real. We are in the midst of a thunderstorm and I'm hoping for a rainbow. But it will probably never be as glorious as yours!

Lyra my darling friend This is incredible writing, again you manage to spin words into threads of light that refract and dance in delicate hues of sunshine within. Your writing shines as no other does.

And what a brilliant jewel this is, utterly utterly perfect the rhythm in this is utterly divine, I love it when you write like this. Truly exquisite, the smile I have is big and golden

Lyra Hi there, this is lovely, your rhyme and flow in this cannot be bettered. You have the gift of describing with words in coloured hue, this is amazingly well written. I’m always enriched by reading your delightful poems and tonight is no exception

Thank you so much, Marti...On the first anniversary of my first husband's death, we had a double rainbow in the sky...
I sure hope you get to see one or maybe more rainbows today...

Thank you so much for that absolutely wonderful compliment, Marsha...I somehow think that you are such a great poet that even your replies are poems in and of themselves.

Thanks so much, Krissy... this was such a fun poem to write...I wrote it over and over with different words...there are probably about 7 versions of it in my notebook...but this was the best.
