If they told me I was dying
I really couldn't complain,
I had two parents that loved me
I've had satisfaction few attain.

I've had a few prayers answered,
His works are no less than great
I've seen God's miracles everywhere
This has taught me faith.

I've brought life into this world,
I've taken life away too,
The first was such a blessing,
Hope the other never happens to you.

I've gained my share of money,
I can purchase material things,
Can't take any with me,
Nor the pleasure they supposedly bring.

I've watched my children grow healthy,
Through laughter, joy and tears,
They grew up so very quickly,
What's happened to all those years?

True wealth's not measured in money,
It's not what you have in banks,
The laughter and love of family and friends,
For this wealth I truly give thanks.

What more could one ask?
Thank you Toe, and now that
we have had this delightful
interlude, we shall be pleased
if you will revert back to your
former self.

Hugs, Sun

Thanks for sharing these insights, so beautifully penned, Mr.Toe.

Having spent many years in this lifetime, and having had a couple of very serious losses, I really appreciate the truth of those words.

All of the money in the world won't buy happiness....but family, love, friends and joy will give it to your for free.

Now...will the REAL Mr.Toe please stand up!

Toe,
You write good art for an old fart.
And hit the bull's eye with the dart.
Couldn't have said it beter myself
So now you can put it back on the shelf.
Have a good one. Sy

Nice thoughts here. Those toes have been kicking around in deep grasses again. I enjoyed the meander.

I've never had very much money
Some would say I lack success -
But whenever I look upon my friends
I know I am truly blessed.

Your place in my life's not acknowledged
By credit unions or banks
But whenever I am down on my knees
For you, dear friend, I give thanks.

Sweet man... whether you're touching our hearts with serious poems or tickling our funnybones with your smiles (or splitting our sides with laughter *G*) ... just be here. *G*

Poetry from your heart - we've just had a 'Toe-kiss'!

Ah, I think you have found the key to happiness…live a good life, and be content with the joys you find in it. You are a wealthy man indeed Toe.
(okay, now who are you, you imposter??? And what have you done with our old Toerag??? )
