Circling Of The Moon

last night there was
a circling of the moon
I missed it for it passed
by me too soon
and lost a rhythmic
graceful chance
to touch it’s tender
illuminating dance
my absence does not
eclipse my enthrall
to be the wax caressed
in star filled call
for excited sky shows
phase of new tide
and we shall again
melt side by side

Beautiful. I always feel like I need to take advantage of the full moon, and then feel bad when I don't.

It was a truly wonderful moon last night. I got to see it rise over the ocean, first appearing as if it were on fire, and by mid-sky it was a giant peach... and the whole drive home the light was so amazing - the deer were all out feeding and we could see them quite clearly. (and thankfully they stayed away from my car)

I am so sorry you missed it, but you've penned a great piece
