Angst

Angst has flamed me into red
Breathing fire from my head
And here I stay a wound up spring
About to strike and roar and ring

Torment swings an iron tongue
Side to side in play of wrung
Bellowing a pour of rain
Acid drops of burning pain.

It nests below the calmest sea
Beneath the smoother part of me
Stark and brooding in the dark
Smoldering ignitions spark.

It shows within like burning hell
Without the sulfur or the smell
Never the less it lives inside
Just outside my souls abide.

And that is what I cannot share
And if I could, I would not dare.

Ouch.  I do know this feeling...
and I hide mine, as well...

Excellent spill...

That's when a good stomp around my Dad's farm works wonders. *G* At least all the briar scratches, bee stings, and muddy shoes give me something tangible to yell about. *G* (Of course, whenever Toe's around, I'm smiling too much for that monster-me to ever take hold... so if I'm a holy terror, it's all his fault. *G*)

I like this very much, Seymour... I think we all have those times when so much is boiling inside us it seems our skin should be hot to the touch. *S* You've written those times so well... beautiful work!

Someone call the cops...there's been a crime!!!
A Randy Dragon has taken over Sy-babes rhyme.
He's huffing and puffing and snorting hell fire ...
He's roaring and snoring his angsty desire.

The forums are filling up with smoke ...
I'm no crank ... this aint no joke
Randy has taken control of Sy's pen
he's done it before ... and he will do it again!!

He's usually a darling dragon, a loving lizard ... one I hold dear,
But sometimes he gets heartburn from too much chips and beer.
That's when he fires up and his snout begins to spark ...
That's when he blows smoke and thinks his bite is hotter than his bark.

But I know the way to stop his rage and bellow ...
I know the way to turn him back to mild and mellow.
For he has a weakness that brings him to his knees ...
It works every time ... and his angst will appease and ease.

For Randy does love my raspberry tea ...
Just one sip of the bree will set him free.
I'll brew a pot and he wont be able to resist ...
all his huff and puff will cease and desist.

Then dear Sy can have back his gifted pen ...
That is, until the next time Randy needs to roar again.

Ya just gotta let the dragon have his day
(are ya smiling yet Stinkylove?)

Seymour OH my this is just too  perfect, I love it, this a different and superb piece of writing from you. The flow as always absolutely perfect, the movement within excellent and the feelings this painted ahhhhh only a master can capture and colour a canvass this well.

Don’t think you have to hide from me
Your thoughts of unsuitability
Most others have a flame inside
That rages within they wish to hide

Your raging fire speaks to me
Mummers secrets your soul speaks clearly
Release the stress and strain within
Let me soothe the furnace beneath skin

Allow my mind to wander there
Smoothing away pain easing your care
Show me what you don’t dare to see
I’ll not be surprised don’t hide from me

Don’t think you have to hide your name
We all have flames driving us insane
The seething fire that you hide
Is no worse than this I have inside

Marsha

This is an excellent poem again from you, you must get sick of hearing me say I love this utterly. You write so consistently well, and so on and so on ad infinitum But hopefully you will forgive me for being totally entranced by your poetical soul.

And I do love this utterly, you really are an excellent writer

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the eathquake wind and fire

JM,
You can sooth the devil himself
And send him back to his hiding shelf.
And I don't think it's the raspberry tea
But just the merest whisper from thee.
Winkiewinkie Randy Stinky,

Marsha,
You utterly overwhelm me sometimes. Instead of a single rose I'll send a bouquet.

(sigh) Oh Seymour, I know just how you feel, I usually am a calm and forgiving person by nature, but I too do have angst inside of me and whenever I feel someone is doing something unfair or cruel, I don't hesitate to express it! (big hugggssssss) This is powerfully blazing, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Seymour, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

There is nothing better on a Monday morning  than to read the quiet tale of a long tailed fierce angry angsty dragon named RANDY. I enjoyed every hot minute of this cool poem. Do you ever let him go out and blow off some of that steam?

Seymour and were you angst ridden? I’m sure mum can soothe your angst, she is very good at soothing the savage breast. I know you aren’t savage and I doubt if Dandy Randy is, I imagine him a bit like Puff, living by the sea.

Whatever this is another of your excellent poems filled with you indefinable quality of superior writing skill and wisdom too. You do know I like this a lot

I love this!!  Oh YES - however, my dragon-lady side DID come out last night. I had a date (our first date in fact) and he got quite drunk and acted the complete and utter idiot. Needless to say, I was most unimpressed and finally had to tell him so. I wouldn't say that I was in the least polite about it, either.

The thing that relieved my angst most, though, was knowing there won't be a second date.

Great write, Seymour

Good girl I like a girl that speaks her mind.

JM,
Read the poem again and hardly remembered it. But that's not unusual now. LOL
