Please know this is not meant to be disrespectful or uncaring of the very real threat of terrorism.

quote:

FBI warns of possible scuba diver terror attacks
WASHINGTON, May 24 (Reuters) - The FBI on Friday added to a recent string of warnings by citing the possible use of scuba divers by terrorists to conduct an attack.
"Recent information has determined that various terrorist elements have sought to develop an offensive scuba diver capability," the FBI said in an information bulletin issued by its National Infrastructure Protection Center.
"While there is no evidence of operational planning to utilize scuba divers to carry out attacks within the United States, there is a body of information showing the desire to obtain such capability," the FBI said.
It asked the public to report any suspicious activity to local FBI offices.

I’m sittin here on my front porch
In the middle of Arizona’s desert
Shotgun cradled across my lap
I’m awake and in full alert

I’m protecting my home here
Phoenix is safe from terrorist scum
Ain’t no rotten scuba divers
Gonna get past me by gum!

I’m going to protect my country
So I’m looking for the men in black
Fins flapping on concrete
Breathing tanks on their back

The heat is building up here
But they’ll surely pay for their sins
And when the temperature rises?
They’ll be baking in their fins.

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Sharon, this is terrible news, sweet friend, I hope this isn't really the case though we must remain vigilant all the same and the next time an act of terrorism is attempted we can thwart it all! (BIG HUGGGSSSSSSS) This is so very powerful, sweet friend, you have spoken your heart so well, we all love you so much!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

This is hilarious! If I see any walking across the pasture I'll give 'em a taste of my .22! By gum!

ROFL!

On a more serious note - i heard about this, and wondered how they'd get their boats close enough to shore to drop anyone off with enough munitions to do any damage.

ah well - hope you have a fan blowin' on yer front porch.

LOL. When you see scuba divers in Arizona,  it means a really big earthquake just knocked California into the Pacific. Best be on the lookout, after all. Could happen, some day.

YEah!!!! well didn't ya hear, they're just waiting off the continental divide....for the San Andreas to do it's thing.... once they've braved the subsequent tsunami, they'll be ready to move in... and Arizona will be likely their first target landing point.  (for those of you living in California, I am only JOKING HERE) it's a good thing we have people like you out there that take national security to a whole new level. I love your sarcasm... I just thought I would add to it.

Yes this is a very real threat...one small boat got the USS Cole and it could have just as easily been a scuba diver...I'm a scuba diver and I'll be watching out on this side of the world...for information on the Cole type in USS Cole and click Go...James

The news DOES make for some interesting
fodder when it comes to jolting our
creative senses, doesn't it, PdV!

Good job!

Now those of us that actually are certified divers have to wonder...Are we gonna have to get clearance now...file a dive plan with the government, maybe pass a background investigation to rent gear...and oh my!  let's not forget...oxygen is flammable.  I have to commend you on keeping your perspective dear poet and pray that our fear does not rule us in the near future.  It seems that terrorism has indeed accomplished one of its goals...confusion.  Keep the faith!

Thank you all for your kind comments. And I do understand that this could be a real threat. A scuba diver could wreck havoc on a cruise ship for instance....

As to the terrorist threats - my son and his family live near Chicago - that's probably a target city. My son-in-law works in a nuclear power plant and he and my daughter live fairly close to it - so that's another target. I am very aware of all the warnings - and would probably be frantic if I didn't keep my sense of humor and my faith.

My daughter reminded me last night that it's usually harder to hit a moving target. We are in the process of moving. Does that make us safe? No, I guess not. Best to enjoy each day, and say/show I love you every chance you get. Maybe friendship and love are our only safety nets.
PS, how is that ocean breeze today?
