Light as a Dove,
He sat upon my shoulder.
With words of peace,
He called me forth
whispering sweet phrases
of love's splendor and worth.
"Be not afraid," He cooed;
but I held back
still afraid, still cautious.
Yet, He stayed upon
my shoulder, stayed
within my heart
calling out to me,
offering His hand.
His love pulled me out
of my hiding place
and into that place of love
that I had not known existed
before I heard the Dove's call.
